Phillip Island Race: Casey Stoner unbeatable Phillip Island Race: Casey Stoner unbeatableComments Off

The MotoGP race at Phillip Island was closed, in fact, the first corner. Duty correction: it is never started. On the home circuit Casey Stoner wins by an absolute ruler, complete with the “poker” of success on the island of Victoria in the past four years with Ducati (2007-2010) scaring people and wildlife in the archipelago at the confluence of three ocean currents, impressed the pace set by 2007 World Champion. In a few laps his lead has increased dramatically: 1 “5 at the first crossing the finish line, raised in 2″, 2 “3, 2″ 7 3 “1, 3″ 5 out of Jorge Lorenzo, the only sections not deface lap in comparison with the red missile.

When in a “mixed” can give to everyone in 2 seconds Warm Up, there’s really no story. Stoner Thus was the third win of the season (and in 4 games), saluting the best possible experience “Australian” with the Ducati. To see him jump to the last bend is already showing a bit of nostalgia in 2011, when it will try to do the same with the Honda and the Desmosedici will be expertly guided by Valentino Rossi, always on the podium today (3 rd), confirmation of a new-found form physics that can postpone the surgery on the shoulder for the first half of November, Valencia test with Ducati permitting.

With the top two positions largely stabilized, as two distinguished absent Dani Pedrosa (coming in second place just behind Stoner in the championship) and Loris Capirossi, the fight was behind them. Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden gave a good show for the third place: 3 laps from the checkered flag to overtake the Ducatista the last lap the replica of the “Doctor”, without giving any chance to reply by winning the sprint for 38 thousandths of a meager benefit.

Good race Ben Spies, fifth and officially “Rookie of the Year” 2010 by beating his opponent the only hypothetical Marco Simoncelli, sixth in growth as well as the first Honda rider in the race. KO with Pedrosa, Marco Melandri and De Puniet 9 ° 10 ° off the track after the Repsol Honda box lowered their shutters after 3 laps for the withdrawal of Andrea Dovizioso caused by a technical failure to the RC212V. It should not be the best that historically suffers Suzuki at Phillip Island, 12 ° with Alvaro Bautista behind Mika Kallio at his last MotoGP race (at Estoril in two weeks with the # 71 will be Carlos Checa), honoring the commitment before leave behind a season to forget for a sporting point of view and human.

Chronicle of Race

Casey Stoner reaches its final position on the grid, but is the first to take the “Doohan” to Lorenzo comes in contact with Spies thus opening the door to Simoncelli, Dovizioso and Hayden, Melandri is 7 °, 9 ° Rossi . Already on the first lap Stoner earns a “503 on Lorenzo, Simoncelli follows passing Hayden for the third position while Rossi comes in contact with Melandri for the 8th position in the” Southern Loop “: # 27 is behind dell’imprendibile a nice brawl.

The demonstration comes on the third lap with Dovizioso who has a striking problem, starts 13th and staccatissimo from the leading group where Hayden is back in third position with Rossi already in contact with Spies. The Superbike World Championship is a furious charge in the fourth passage leads to the third place, leaving behind his compatriot with Hayden and Rossi Simoncelli wheel, fighting quartet compared to the last valid position for the podium.

Forced to surrender Andrea Dovizioso, stopped by an obvious technical problem with wing’s Honda RC212V after just five laps on the box that HRC can lower their shutters and prepare the material in view of Estoril. Aim for the podium Valentino Rossi and Hayden with a lap passes first contact at the hairpin after the “MG”, shortly after the sacrificial victim is even Ben Spies at the curve “Doohan” with the result of opening the doors to Simoncelli and Hayden that give the show with Edwards in great comeback.

Filed the first third of the race, the situation is well defined: Stoner not see anyone, following Lorenzo 4 “with Rossi and Hayden now tussle for the final podium spot to fifth place instead of Ben Spies and Marco Simoncelli . Meanwhile, Randy De Puniet, the focus of many rumors, is leading a “straight” to “Honda Corner by spreading last contact with Barbera and Aoyama in visible distress. We arrive at the final rush following the double-battle for 3rd and 5th place: behind Stoner and Lorenzo have the better of Rossi Hayden (great last lap overtaking) and Spies on Simoncelli. Followed by Edwards and Melandri Espargaro in ninth place, 14 riders at the finish line, all waiting Estoril points in two weeks.

Jorge Lorenzo “I must return to the podium at Motegi” Jorge Lorenzo “I must return to the podium at Motegi”Comments Off

At Motorland Aragon Jorge Lorenzo broke the sequence of 12 consecutive podiums in the same season, finishing in fourth place, “mocked” the last lap from Nicky Hayden. No drama for the leader of the world this weekend at Motegi will try to return to the podium to win serious points for the championship, Dani Pedrosa is 56 points away, but a comeback …

Motegi is the home race for Yamaha and I am always happy of running there, “says Jorge Lorenzo. Last year I got my first MotoGP win at this track and was one of the most beautiful moments of my career.

I like the circuit a lot and I think we can do well. The goal for this race is back on the podium and collect as many points as possible: this will be essential to be quick in qualifying for Friday’s start to the GP and the first of three consecutive race weekends. “

Last year Lorenzo was able to win in front of Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa, who stars in a fine second phase of the race where he took off with a good pace.

Nicky Hayden “Fantastic back on the podium” Nicky Hayden “Fantastic back on the podium”Comments Off

From Indianapolis 2009 Nicky Hayden did not rise to the podium. To achieve this benefit, the “Kentucky Kid” has invented an anthology, overtaken by Jorge Lorenzo on the last lap, just mocking the variant that places on the pit straight. Nice move, nice podium to complete a memorable day for Ducati and Stoner won his third Hayden.

“It ‘s wonderful to be able to return to the podium and I really enjoyed today, “says Hayden. “The bike has been strong since the first practice on Friday and the race I was able to start well and then stay with Jorge.

There was no point where I could really put the wheels in front and in the last two laps he pushed hard to leave. But I had decided today that fourth place would not be enough. I made a move that has not provided for in the chicane and then I managed to close all lines.

It ‘s a good result for the Ducati team, sponsors and fans. I am happy to have them hailed from the podium: sometimes we will do it again before the end of the season. “

End of a long fast. After 12 races Casey Stoner back in pole position, a result that he lacked even the onset of the season in Qatar facing a difficult championship, to be forgotten, pending transition of its change of brand for 2011. With his Ducati Desmosedici GP10 has been found well to Motorland Aragon: best time in the wet yesterday afternoon, just this morning in optimal climatic conditions. The next step was the pole position this time has not escaped Iridium 2007, to reach a lap of 1’48 “942 like a thunderclap in the fighting ending of formal qualifications.

At the 20th career pole in MotoGP, Stoner trimmed to 3 / 10 Jorge Lorenzo, left to watch … especially the last (fast) sector where Casey made the difference. The leader of the world has recovered from a difficult morning, leaving behind Dani Pedrosa also, this time for his mistake on the last lap useful when it came off after a strong reference in the first two best lap of the circuit of Alcaniz. Okay for the driver of the Honda (and will remain for the next two years alongside his Stoner), especially considering the pace established in the practice sessions.

The challenge will be wide open with some uncertainty about the weather and the role of Valentino Rossi, 7th on the grid equaling worst result of the season at Indianapolis. A real “shot back” allowed him to gain half a second on his last lap certainty of finding the entire third row also tricolor with Andrea Dovizioso and Marco Simoncelli, but still behind Nicky Hayden, Ben Spies and Randy found a De Puniet from 4th to 6th on the grid.

Complete the top ten Hector Barbera, Alvaro Bautista can not do better than the 12th time with the only deployed Suzuki, Marco Melandri after tests in the wet to say the least convincing is found only at 14 ° in an unrecognizable Hiroshi Aoyama and Mika Kallio , 2 “from the top 5. For them it is ready the rain dance.

MotoGP discovers Motorland Aragon, but the state of grace of Dani Pedrosa. Pedrosa has created a vacuum in a circuit known last July with a Honda CBR1000RR road, pulling the novel pair of 4 / 10 consisting of Nicky Hayden (2 ° to + 0 “411) and Jorge Lorenzo (3 ° to + 0 “422). The main difference the three-time World Champion with his Honda RC212V can do in the last two curves in areas that combine sequence and the long straight, where special problems without traveling over 320 km / h.

Hayden and Lorenzo managed to limit the damage in the final minutes of the session, certainly not Valentino Rossi on track last week at Alcaniz with a Yamaha R1, now in a “second from the top seeing preceded by his illustrious predecessor Ducati Casey Stoner fourth, and Marco Simoncelli 5 ° as well as the best drivers on the track without any reference to Motorland Aragon.

Rossi postings that take on texture, with Hector Barbera seventh rule by none other than Andrea Dovizioso future still uncertain and the two Tech 3 riders arm in arm, with Colin Edwards 9th followed by Ben Spies. Marco Melandri for the eleventh position, Aleix Espargaro a fall on cold tires (yet?) the dynamics very clear with the highside at turn 2: no physical problem so to conclude with the 14th time this afternoon hoping to improve in second session in a renewed program of the MotoGP in Aragon.

For the second consecutive year Nicky Hayden ended the Grand Prix in Misano Adriatico in the first corner, this time remedying a serious blow to the wrist in contact with Loris Capirossi. Completely recovered physically, the 2006 World Champion will race this weekend Motorland Aragon.

A circuit that has been able to discover in recent months, turning with a Ducati 1198s road, enough to gain useful references for the race scheduled this weekend.

“Misano was a tough race for everyone, not one that we hope never happens again, “says Hayden,”but we are pilots and we go on doing what we love, so now we will prepare for Aragon trying to get back front and be competitive. It ‘s always great to race on a new track, it’s exciting for us drivers but also for teams and for anyone working in the paddock.

Prepare the structure of the motion is a challenge, especially with regard to exchange and suspensions. We start from scratch with no data and is something that I charge a lot. Aragon is full of ups and downs and very funny, my wrist is 100% so I’m looking forward to getting back into riding my bike back to work with my team. “

In the dating game (4 teams in the top 8 positions in sequence with their pilots) Champion Dani Pedrosa, absolute ruler in Misano Adriatico. Appropriate term to describe the outcome of the first practice session of the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini, where the three-time World Champion has left everyone at least 6 / 10, over a single lap, but on race pace . Approaching the good track record Pedrosa, close to confirmation HRC has traveled under constant wall dell’1’35 “with opponents engaged in understanding how we can yield similar to the recent winner of Indianapolis.

The “news” is that Honda has started the weekend well not happen as long, as thick and reluctantly to the Repsol garage the weekend began investigating devices to marry the best characteristics of the circuit with the RC212V. The confirmation comes from a tremendous Pedrosa but also by Andrea Dovizioso who finds himself in second place, even paying the canons 6 / 10 by teammate despite an appreciable recovery in the final session.

The dating game then proposes the two Repsol Honda the top two, followed by the Fiat Yamaha, the Tech 3 Yamaha and Ducati officers to complete training very homogeneous. Jorge Lorenzo is therefore 3 ° 6 / 10 from Pedrosa, while paying 0 “7 Valentino Rossi, as happens too often in the last period with a substantial handicap to recover.

All work to recover this gap even if the box can be satisfied Tech 3, 5 and 6th time of Colin Edwards and Ben Spies (winner last year at Misano Superbike Race 1 between), even before the official Ducati Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner his usual alternating many laps and long briefing with their technical staff. Good news for Marco Melandri and Loris Capirossi in the early 13 th 10 with Marco Simoncelli: Misano all point to a race of pride and players.

MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo won on Brno his 7th victory MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo won on Brno his 7th victoryComments Off

There was no need for this show of force. Perhaps because of this Jorge Lorenzo has thought well to keep the habit to the podium and victory in Brno: 7 hits in 10 races, the other always 2 °, “worst” result of the season. Nothing to do to opponents, with only Dani Pedrosa to take his hand out of reach early in the contest before raising the white flag, settle for second place and 77 (!) Points behind in the league. Speaking of numbers, Jorge Lorenzo is impressive: following the track, is scary. Not a little trimming, seconded trajectories designed to perfection by a Yamaha M1 which remains the reference category, led by pilot Lin Jarvis wanted as a present and future home of the Three Diapason.

You can safely talk about “disarming superiority” in a few emotions from MotoGP, soporific, now gone from the championship in the database, alarm clock just waiting (Ad arrive no later than 19:00) of the passage of Valentino Rossi at Ducati. A few hours after the double press, the race in Brno on 9 times World Champion has paid only a bad start closing in 5th position unable to recover on a great Ben Spies (4th), but with a constant race pace at least half a second than current teammate as evidenced by the 17 “exposure to disadvantage the checkered flag.

The awards podium as Dani Pedrosa, the only one not willing to surrender. At Laguna Seca to resist the command flew to land here in Brno could not even sketch a similar strategy: the first lap Lorenzo was already in my head … One of the (few) overtaking the race earned the podium with Casey Stoner third in Brno and in passing league Andrea Dovizioso crashed on startup and the first “zero season (in Barcelona, divided concluded 14th). The output stage of Forli awarded the sixth place with a battered Nicky Hayden at times in conflict with the future team-mate Valentino Rossi, not the best of shape after the fall and the small fracture in his left hand yesterday .

Comeback Marco Melandri made his eighth resisting Hector Barbera and exceptional Randy De Puniet, 10 ° to 28 days of Tiba and fibula fracture of his left leg remedied at the Sachsenring, even before Marco Simoncelli in “crisis” in the final laps. With the two Suzuki’s Capirossi and Bautista grounded, Alex De Angelis 13 °, the general feeling is that thought for all is already turned to next year between ads, screening tests in 2011 (its tomorrow at the Masaryk Circuit), contracts finalize: Jorge Lorenzo to beat this takes time and planning, the same that led him to dominate in three years in MotoGP.

Chronicle of Race

Good start to his usual Pedrosa, Spies takes second place with Lorenzo already third time Rossi in seventh place in the first corner tussle with Dovizioso and Hayden. Who is surprised Jorge Lorenzo, under braking for turn 4 in one fell swoop pass Pedrosa and Spies taking the lead materializing the best possible start. Closes the first lap with Lorenzo, Spies, Pedrosa, Stoner, Dovizioso, Edwards, Hayden and Rossi eighth pressed by Simoncelli and Melandri Honda Gresini. Pedrosa comes the reaction, under braking for turn 4 in front of Spies is the first group of five compact including Dovizioso and Stoner. Already out Loris Capirossi, who fell once again in this painful season with his team-mate Alvaro Bautista, aches and back of the group.

Danger on the 3rd lap out of turn 10 Dovizioso slips with his bike, which remains standing in the middle of the track, but fortunately all they can to avoid even a matter of inches as in the case of Rossi and Hayden. There is only one race and Repsol Honda is the # 26 Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo with the hunting of Spies gradually losing ground with Stoner, is behind Rossi who has just passed Hayden.

Mika Kallio on lap six flies tumbling to the ground prematurely ending his race, instead reopen the practice-podium for Casey Stoner that straddles Ben Spies. Too far to catch up with Lorenzo and Pedrosa the race leader and the world begins to take on compatriot margin, virtually the last thrill of the race. Lorenzo wins the case for the 7th time this season ahead of Pedrosa, Stoner, Spies, Smith and Hayden, Melandri ends 8th after a long confrontation with Barbera, Simoncelli and Alex De Angelis De Puniet 13 ° probably his last race Interwetten Honda. Alvaro Bautista slips on the last lap trying to pass Simoncelli.

All down to earth. Marco Simoncelli, Hector Barbera, Nicky Hayden, but especially in the decisive final five minutes of qualifying at Brno two official Yamaha: Jorge Lorenzo at the first turn 11 in height (with the bike almost to bypass the barriers), shortly after Valentino Rossi loses before the last variant thus compromising the trials. No error and award the following for Dani Pedrosa, the 34th career pole in the World Championship (third season after Jerez and Mugello), managing to beat with a perfect lap … Ben Spies!

Truly a spectacular qualifying session with hyper-raids at the top of Rossi, Lorenzo, until you reach the final confrontation between Pedrosa and Spies. The three-times world champion between 250 and 125 remained among the world’s fastest single lap, exploiting the characteristics of his Honda RC212V tenth essential to gaining that precede Ben Spies, another master of the pole (11 to 14 last year in Superbike … ), worthy of the grid at the expense of Fiat Yamaha riders.

Jorge Lorenzo has recovered little more than Valentino Rossi with no physical consequences, both to complain publicly with himself for the mistake. Grid therefore difficult to forecast in the first two files: Spies in front of Pedrosa and Lorenzo, followed by Casey Stoner (recovering only in the final step but with a non-existent for the race), Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso who pays just 609 thousandths from poleman and companion team.

As mentioned also flew to the ground Marco Simoncelli (climbed to 12 on the grid) and Nicky Hayden, with the latter suffered a blow to his left hand. Hopefully nothing serious for a grid already reduced to 16 points after the exclusion of Alvaro Bautista, who fell miserably this morning, leaving only the task of bringing Loris Capirossi Suzuki in the top ten. Out of this goal by Marco Melandri (14th) and Alex De Angelis, 15 ° front Aleix Espargaro inexplicably back. Appreciable recovery of Randy De Puniet, 11th on the grid when 27 days ago had remedied the fracture of tibia and fibula of his left leg.

Rossi continues unstoppable in Sepang Rossi continues unstoppable in SepangComments Off

The current MotoGP champion, the Italian, Valentino Rossi, motorcycle world’s nine-time champion, again made clear that the new Yamaha M1 gives him good sensations, as he leaded the second pre-season testing day in the Sepang racetrack.

‘Il Dottore’, who already was the fastest yesterday, today rolled with good times, his best being 2.00.925.

The rider from Urbine was the only one capable of riding below 2.01, while his direct World Championship rivals did as follows: Stoner, his closest opponent, made it second at only 395 thousandths.  Lorenzo and Pedrosa also rolled at less than a second from the Italian rider.

However, the great surprise of the day was in charge of the US rider, Ben Spies (Yamaha), Superbike world champion, pulling off the fifth best time, showing great adaptation to the M1, in spite of his lack of experience with it.

Regarding the rest of the Spaniards, the results were: Aleix Espargaró (Ducati) ninth, improving yesterday’s times, while Héctor Barberá (Ducati) and Álvaro Bautista (Suzuki) are still adapting to the ‘queen’ category  and were twelfth and fourteenth, respectively.

On the other hand, the fright of the day was experienced with the Italian, Marco Simoncelli (Honda), who suffered a fall due to a ‘lash’ of the RC21V, but escaped unharmed and could return to the track a while later.

–RESULTADS OF THE DAY:

1. Valentino Rossi (ITA/Yamaha)  2:00.925.

The first official tests of MotoGP started together with the presentation of the motorcycles for the 2010 World Championship.  The Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Ducati test pilots have started the first session of the pre-season testing without official times.

The stars were the Japanese, Norihiko Fujiwara and Wataru Yoshikawa (Yamaha Factory), Kosuke Akiyoshi (Repsol Honda Team), Nobuatsu Aoki (Rizla Suzuki MotoGP) and Vittoriano Guareschi (Ducati Marlboro Team).  Their activity in the tracks was followed with much attention by many official riders who already where in ‘boxes’, among them: Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Loris Capirossi, Nicky Hayden, as well as the debutants, Héctor Barberá, Álvaro Bautista and Hiroshi Aoyama.

During this first day, no official times have been announced.  Some said that in the Yamaha ‘box’ they assured their two pilots marked a better time of 2:07.34.

The Honda test rider, Kosuke Akiyoshi, rode both, Andrea Dovizioso’s motorcycle and Dani Pedrosa’s to be sure of the good operation of the basic standards and that the new evolutions that the official riders will try out tomorrow are also ready.

Ducati was the team with less attendance in the track.  Vittoriano Guareschi, Sport Director of the official team, but also test rider of the Italian motorcycle, only rolled half of the day.  In the afternoon, he met with the people who are responsible for the satellite ‘scuderias.
