The synthetic rubber metal experiencing design is a normal way windsheild wiper. However the metal could be custom made-generated for diverse conditions like a brass or stainless steel metal experiencing, rather than the vulcanized metal the way wipers usually will come normal with. Van der Garde to combine F1 with GP2Comments Off Giedo van der Garde will combine his new F1 reserve role with another season in the GP2 series this year. According to a report in De Telegraaf newspaper, it has now emerged that van der Garde will race for Caterham’s GP2 team as well. “The agreement will be announced officially on Monday,” said the Dutch report. Van der Garde commented: “I want to stay sharp by being with Caterham Racing (GP2 team). “I am very happy with my role as reserve driver, but when you’re on the road for the whole year with the F1 team and do only a fair number of Friday practices, then you would miss your rhythm. “I just wanted to keep up some racing. “I will be involved in everything with the F1 team and at every race, but when I need to race, then my full focus will be on GP2,” he added. |

Bianchi’s sponsor signs up with Force India(1) Jules Bianchi’s personal sponsor has signed up with the Force India team for 2012. Without mentioning 22-year-old Bianchi’s name, the Silverstone based team announced this week that Brazilian car parts maker Aethra is a new sponsor. Aethra was Bianchi’s main sponsor in GP2 last season, when he finished the feeder series in third place behind champion Romain Grosjean and Luca Filippi. “Particularly after a bad start, it is unfortunate that 2011 did not go as we wanted for Bianchi in GP2,” his manager Nicolas Todt told Italy’s Autosprint magazine last week. “It was therefore impossible for him to win the title and so similarly (impossible) to find him a formula one race seat with a good team.” |

F1 cars would suit me better than GP2Comments Off According to Giedo van der Garde, success in feeder category GP2 is no guide as to whether a driver will succeed in formula one. Van der Garde has, however, finished just fifth in this year’s GP2 championship after a poor final two rounds in Belgium and Italy. He wrote in his formule1.nl column that he will not be returning to the series in 2012. “What now? That’s the big question. It will not be another season in GP2, I am now 26 and need to be realistic. It is formula one or nothing,” said van der Garde. “My results in GP2 do not say anything about my skills as a driver. Look at Kobayashi and d’Ambrosio, two drivers who are doing well in formula one, but in GP2 they were nowhere. “I am ready for formula one and would love the chance to show what I can do in those cars. They are much better for me than GP2,” said van der Garde, who has been a F1 test driver with Spyker. “These (GP2 cars) are sometimes like a rally car, with F1 cars requiring a much more refined style. That’s my style and I hope I can prove it,” he added. |

Hulkenberg has not lost Williams seat yetComments Off Nico Hulkenberg’s manager has played down suggestions the young German will definitely lose his race seat at Williams at the end of the season. The British team on Monday seemed to confirm speculation it is considering replacing the 2009 GP2 champion with the feeder series’ new title winner, Pastor Maldonado. Venezuelan Maldonado, 25, is heavily backed by the state owned petroleum company PDVSA, and Williams co-owner Patrick Head in Korea admitted that economic factors would influence the board’s driver decision for 2011. In a media statement, the Oxfordshire based team announced that Maldonado will test the FW32 in the post-season Abu Dhabi ‘young driver’ session next month. And he is not in contention for merely the team’s 2011 test seat, because Finn Valtteri Bottas “will remain” in that post next year, Williams said. Maldonado said last month that he hoped to secure a deal for his 2011 debut “before the race in Abu Dhabi, so I can participate in the tests there after the GP with my new team”. But Hulkenberg’s manager Willi Weber insists his rookie charge is still in the reckoning at Williams. “Nico is not ‘out’ already, as has been speculated,” he told the German news agency DPA. “The talks with Williams are continuing, but there are obviously alternatives,” added Weber. “Williams is the first choice and we would love to stay, but it is extremely important that Nico has a race cockpit in formula one for 2011,” he said. Interestingly, Weber seemed to acknowledge the legitimacy of Williams’ apparent reconsideration of Hulkenberg’s place at the team. “(Chairman) Adam Parr has a great responsibility to hundreds of employees and as the highest priority he must consider the welfare of the team,” he said. |

GP2 series to use Pirelli’s F1 tyres in 2011Comments Off
It is now clear that next year’s formula one tyres will be identical to the ones used in the feeder series GP2. We reported last month that, as Nick Heidfeld began testing Pirelli’s F1 prototypes at Mugello, also running the tyres for the Italian marque was a GP2 car driven by Briton Ben Hanley. Pirelli’s track programme continued last week at Paul Ricard, where this time alongside Heidfeld’s 2009 Toyota was Giorgio Pantano in the GP2 Dallara. “We were using the same tyres as Heidfeld with the 2009 Toyota,” confirmed GP2 technical director Didier Perrin, according to Germany’s Auto Bild. “This is good news because it means you can use the same tyres in both series, which is important for Pirelli and GP2. “For the GP2 drivers, it means them racing on the same tyres as in formula one, which would be very useful for their futures,” Frenchman Perrin added. |
