Vettel refers ‘mental coach’ claim to lawyers Vettel refers ‘mental coach’ claim to lawyersComments Off

Sebastian Vettel is calling in the lawyers after a ‘psychological coach’ claimed to be employed by the new back-to-back world champion.
A 31-year-old Austrian woman has in recent days claimed on several articles and interviews to have helped the Red Bull driver to achieve his unprecedented success.

“I don’t even know this woman,” Vettel told Bild newspaper.

Red Bull’s driver manager Helmut Marko revealed: “We have referred the matter to the lawyers.”

In fact, the woman might also be the victim of a fraud, after producing a recent email supposedly from Vettel.

Vettel’s spokeswoman Britta Roeske insisted: “That letter did not come from Sebastian’s email address.”

The mental coach said: “Maybe I’ve been misled by a charlatan.”

High-altitude scare for Vettel after Singapore High-altitude scare for Vettel after SingaporeComments Off

World champion Sebastian Vettel had a high-altitude scare when returning to his home in Switzerland from Singapore earlier this week.

Media reports say the Singapore Airbus A380 carrying the Red Bull driver, as well as other F1 personalities including Peter Sauber, encountered a problem just before landing in Zurich.

The pilots diverted to Frankfurt, and Bild newspaper said it was a failure of the aircraft’s instrument landing system (ILS).

Passengers recalled that as the plane descended for landing, the pilots suddenly pulled back up at full power.

“We were never scared, because we were given very good information from the cockpit,” Sauber is quoted as saying by the Swiss newspaper Blick.

“But during the approach I did think, oops, the forest down there is looking rather close. Then we went back up.”

Said Vettel’s press manager Britta Roeske: “The captain came immediately to Sebastian and explained the electronic defect. Sebastian was very relaxed and even let himself be photographed with the crew members and passengers.”

He may still have no manager, but Sebastian Vettel now has his own press spokeswoman.
Previously employed by the team Red Bull Racing, Britta Roeske will now handle only the 23-year-old German’s press affairs.

The move mirrors the approach of countryman Michael Schumacher, whose long-time press spokeswoman Sabine Kehm is now his general manager.
