De La Rosa confirmed as BMW Sauber pilot De La Rosa confirmed as BMW Sauber pilotComments Off

The Spanish pilot, Pedro Martinez De la Rosa will be the BMW Sauber ‘Scuderia’ second official pilot in the 2010 Formula One World Championship, as confirmed this Tuesday through a press release by the team based in Switzerland.
38 year old, De la Rosa, who has been a McLaren-Mercedes test driver for the last seven seasons, will partner in his new racing-team with the Japanese, Kamui Kobayashi.  Hence, the pilot from Barcelona makes his comeback to the ‘Great Circus’ as official pilot and does so with 71 Grand Prix under his belt and 29 points in the World Championship.  With his signing, he will become the championship’s second most veteran after Michael Schumacher (41).
At 17 Pedro De la Rosa began competing in 1988 in Karting and from that moment on, and thanks to the support of the Spanish Automobile Federation, he was able to go up through the categories until he reached Formula One.
Until 1991, he competed in Spain where he won the Formula Ford British Championship.  The following year, he went to Great Britain to win the Formula Renault, the European Series of that category and the ‘Privilege Formula 3 Festival’.
From there he jumped to Japan, being decisive stage for De la Rosa –from 1995 to 1997—since he won all the championships in which he competed, Formula 3 (1995), Formula 3000 (1997) and Great Tourism (1997).  For this reason he received the nickname of ‘Nippon Ichi’, that means ‘Japan’s Number 1.’
The Catalan’s first contact with a Formula 1 car took place in 1998, as Jordan’s test driver, a year before his definitive jump, becoming Arrows’ official pilot, where he challenged 16 races and added a point, ending the championship in 18th position.

A year later, still in Arrows, he added two more points in 17 tests, before signing with Jaguar for the 2001 season.  In this racing-team, the Spaniard, could not shine due to the not very competitive single-seated he drove, attaining only fifth (Italy 2001) and sixth positions (Canada 2001) as his most outstanding performances.

JUMP TO MCLAREN AND PODIUM IN HUNGRY.

From 2003 on, De la Rosa he becomes McLaren’s test driver, and two years later he gets the chance to dispute a race with the Anglo-German racing-team, the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he finished on fifth position.
But the best moments for the pilot from Barcelona in McLaren would come a year later, in 2006, where he challenged eight races as substitute of the Colombian, Juan Pablo Montoya.  De la Rosa added a total of 19 points and for the first time in his career, managed to take a podium place by finishing second in the Hungarian Grand Prix, even ahead of Michael Schumacher.

Even though there was much speculation around De la Rosa’s jump to an official wheel –specially as a result of Fernando Alonso leaving McLaren-, finally the Finish Heikki Kovalainen closed the doors on him and the last three seasons he has not been able to challenge any Grand Prix.

During the last months everything seemed to indicate that the Catalan –who has been President of the Pilot Association for two years-, would come back to the competition by the hand of the Spanish debutant team, the Campos Meta, negotiations with the Adrian Campos’ racing-team were interrupted so it will finally be the Sauber team which takes in the veteran pilot.

PETER SAUBER VALUES HIS “EXPERIENCE.”

“Pedro has worked during the last years for one of the best teams of technical level athletics.  We, as a team, want to take advantage of his experience, as we would like Kamui to do,” stated in a press release Peter Sauber, Principal of the team.

Likewise, the team principal of the Catalan’s new ‘Scuderia’ underlines that “the combination of an experienced pilot with a bright young hope usually renders good results.”  He seemed “sure” that in this case, “it’s what’s going to happen next season.”

“Of course, it’s essential that we can give them a good car and I have a very optimistic view of the evolution we can achieve at our factory.  We’re capable of continuing our work with the 2010 car, just as we had programmed, despite of the recent uncertainty period”, Peter Sauber pointed out.

The Spanish pilot, Fernando Alonso said that “the ideal” would be that his “greatest rival” next season would be his team mate, Felipe Massa, because that would illustrate Ferrari’s power.  Although, he warned that both McLaren, and Red Bull and Mercedes, will be “very competitive teams and difficult to beat.”

“The ideal would be that my most fierce rival was Felipe (Massa): that would mean that we’re the best team.  While I also think that McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes will be very competitive and difficult to beat,” explained Alonso in Maranello during a chat with Ferrari fans that extended around 40 minutes.

Regarding his integration to the ‘Scuderia’, Alonso assured that “only positive things can be said,” since the team members “are giving all” to help him.  It’s very important to me.  I already feel as part of a very special family,” the pilot declared.

Alonso answered the questions from the cybernauts from the Italian racing team’s headquarters, where he’s fixing the last parts of the car, for instance, the seat.  ”Ferrari will be competitive and I hope to bring the pilot World title to Maranello,” he replied.

The thorniest question came from a fan who asked him about the past.  Specifically, his confrontation with Ferrari when he drove other ‘Scuderias’.  Alonso explained that he “never” said “anything terrible” against the Italian team.

“It’s true that in the past there were some arguments, but these things happen when your fighting for a world championship.  After all, we’re humans not robots.”  The Spaniard pointed out that he also made comments about the possible adverse reaction of some ‘tiffosi’ after his signing is made known.

ESPN and ABC prominence in Montoya’s NASCAR ESPN and ABC prominence in Montoya’s NASCARComments Off

The great heights and popularity that the NASCAR automobile competition is getting will be fully covered by ESPN and ABC television networks, which have guaranteed the 17 tests for the next season’s broadcasts.

The remaining 41 tests will be broadcast by the National network FOX (14), cable’s TNT (6) and SPD (4), respectively.
The competition will again have among its outstanding pilots the Colombian, Juan Pablo Montoya -who last season finished on 8th place of the championship’s competition-, will begin February 6 with the initial text in the Daytona International Speedway.

But it will not be but until February 21, a week after the Daytona 500 Mile classic race, that the Sprint Cup Series competition will begin at California’s Auto Club Speedway.
Nevertheless, ESPN and ABC will not begin the 17 broadcasts they have programmed until July 25 with the Brickyard 400 test, and will complete them when the season ends with the 10 races that define the NASCAR champion with the Sprint Cup Chase series.  The last one will be the one that will take place at Homestead (Miami), in November 21.

ESPN will broadcast 14 tests, while ABC -the National network from the same business group and which last season broadcast 11-, this year will only broadcast three, and all of them on Saturday night.
ESPN’s broadcast races’ schedules will be: 1:00 PM (18:00 GMT) for the East Coast and 3:00 PM (20:00 GMT) in the West Coast, except for Atlanta’s on September 25, which will begin at 7:30 PM (00:30 GMT).
The three races broadcast by ABC on Saturday nights will be Bristol, Tennessee, (August 21), Richmond, Virginia, (September 11) and Charlotte, North Carolina, (October 16), at 7:30 PM (00:30 GMT).
John Skipper, ESPN Executive Vice-President, stressed in an official press release about the excellent results the network had last year with NASCAR competition’s broadcast.
“All we did last year showed us that ESPN is the best network for NASCAR”, Skipper underlined. For his part, Paul Brooks, NASCAR Media Group’s President, likewise in an official press release, praised all of ESPN’s subscriber base which has special relevance among the young population segment.

“They are wonderful news for our NASCAR competition fans,” said Brooks in the press release.  ”The ESPN subscriber base is of nearly 100 million and the network has a special gift to attract young viewers.”
Brooks recognized that this ESPN reality will allow the NASCAR competition to be viewed more, which will benefit all equally.

Last season, US Jimmy Johnson (6.652 points) won the championship title for fourth consecutive year, being the first to do this in the history of the competition.
Montoya, who fought among the firsts until the last two Sprint Cup Chase tests, finished on eighth position, with 6.252 points and winning 5.270.120 million dollars, in what was his second season in the NASCAR competition.

F1: Ferrari’s concerns for 2010 F1: Ferrari’s concerns for 2010Comments Off

Shell and Ferrari are working hard these last weeks to solve the inflection point represented by the weight-fuel ratio:  “It’s true that this year fuel consumption is essential, not only with relation to the engine but to the race’s strategy.  We’re working very hard with Shell and are on the right track to solve it, but it will of course be another clear sport fighting area, “Domenicali said.
The thing is that it’s a terrible problem, because with this year’s new norm, less consumption gives you the option to design a gigantic tank this year but a bit smaller that the rivals’, and the design of the new tank is adapted to the single-seated chassis’ development.
There are less than 15 days for the presentation and for Massa to try the Ferrari out in Cheste.  There, the result will have to be seen.  In addition, it’s well known in the F1 that the Mercedes’ engine uses around 10 liters less than the rest.
In the past, consumption was not so relevant, but now that the cars cannot rest and you race out with all the fuel that’s possible, the less consumption engine will cover the same distance with less kilos of fuel, . Now, 10 kilos, either be it of tank size mass or of gas, usually mean three or four tenths of advantage in time per lap.
Under this premise, from the moment the race starts, lap to lap, the  single-seated with less consumption can have a very significant initial advantage.  This is the reason why Ferrari has devoted itself to solve this concern, substituting a Gilles Simon for Luca Marmorini, who returns to the team with the target of trying to reduce this extra weight in 10 or a 15%.
Once this problem has been overcome, there’s still the limitation of the frozen engines by regulation since the 2008 season.  Ferrari’s improvements are limited.  A difficulty is that the inlet manifolds can be touched, the exhausts a bit, liquids, electronics, but not the engine’s block.
“The first goal for the new car is to gain reliability.  With this purpose we have developed a simulation program and of engine power of which we expect great results to lessen the problems experimented the last two years,” Domenicali declared.
In the Schumacher era, Ferrari did not damage one single propellant for several years, and the only one it did in Japan in 2006, caused Schumacher to loose the title, precisely against Alonso.  The Renault R25 and R26 of the Spaniard turned the propellant’s reliability into one of the clues to win titles.  This will be the season’s technical clue, as Fernando Alonso himself confessed.

Virgin Racing’s Plans Virgin Racing’s PlansComments Off

The plans of the new team, Virgin Racing for a pilot development program have given a great step forward with the news given by John Booth, the team’s principal, pointing out that they’re launching the GP3 team in 2010.

Racing Manor GP3 team will share the installations with Virgin’s Formula One’s racing shop, and it’s pilot will win a Formula One test.  GP3 is a new category of only one racing single-seated that made its debut this season as a link series for the GP2 Series.  It will be executed in parallel together with the GP2 Championship.
Before entering the Formula One under the name of Virgin, Booth and his organization Manor Motorsport has achieved great success in minor series, such as Formula Three and Formula Renault, playing an important role in the development of great pilots, including Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton.
“Manor GP3 is a wonderful opportunity for the future stars’ potential can raise to Virgin Racing,” Booth said.  “Our target has been to get a budget for the series that is not only extremely competitive, but offers the drivers the added benefit of the Manor pilot preparation and integration to the Formula One team.”
“Besides receiving support from our fantastic team of highly experienced professionals, Manor GP3 will occupy the Virgin Racing F1 installations, will have access to the programs operated by Wirth Research simulator and will be executed in support of the Formula One’s 2010 European rounds.  The icing in the cake is the incredible award of an F1 test with Virgin Racing for Manor GP3’s most successful pilot.”

The cars are normalized GP3s, with Dallara chassis and a Renault 280CV engine with Hewland sequential gearbox. Pirelli will supply the tires to the series and the GP2 supplier will provide the Brembo brakes.

Adrian Sutil looking forward to 2010 Adrian Sutil looking forward to 2010Comments Off

Adrian Sutil, who has just returned from a promotional tour in India, after two years racing in the Force India Malaysian team and being last season’s sensation, has expressed his goals for the beginning of season 2010.

The pilot declared that India is supporting Formula One very much, and that Formula One in general has established as strong reference in India.  “Fans are very enthusiastic.” “Of course, right now you cannot compare it with Europe’s support, but I believe that it’s in the way of becoming very popular, very soon,” he pointed out.

During the last two years, Force India has been one of the smallest teams of the grid, but with four new teams, it has repositioned as middle in the table.  “It feels very well to be a competitive team in Formula One.  The 2009 season was one of the most important seasons for us.  With good performances… and some wonderful surprises, we have been able to get ourselves a space.  Now, it’s important to continue with the good work and try to be even more competitive in 2010,” Sutil said.
Other teams need to learn –maybe painfully-, how to work efficiently with less people and a reduced budget.  But this could take a while and thus, 2010 could be a great opportunity for us,” he added.
Let’s recall that the Force India pilots are the same who finished last season, Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

“I think this is another advantage for us, specially during the first races where others will have to find the way around their new team and find out how his team mate is.”
“In Force India there is no position in the team.  We’ll all have the same car and the same opportunity to give the best of ourselves.
Besides Mercedes, the Force India showed good qualities in some races.  “I has always been great to work with Mercedes, and I’m looking forward to working with them again.  In my opinion, it’s the best engine and it must help us this season,” he stated.

The refuel ban is the biggest change this season.  How advanced can the VJM3 development be?

“All the team is working hard to develop the best possible car, and presently it seems very, very promising.  The new regulations are a great challenge for everybody, so to give a right statement about how well the new norms will have to be interpreted, we’ll have to wait until the fist test in Jerez, where the VJM3 will be driven and the first times will be known.”
The German pilot does not hide his aspirations, and it will not be an easy task to go beyond the good past season.

Massa: has talked more with Alonso in 3 days than Raikkonen in 3 years Massa: has talked more with Alonso in 3 days than Raikkonen in 3 yearsComments Off

The Brazilian pilot, Felipe Massa (Ferrari) declared he believes he’s going to have a “very good relationship ” with his new mate, the Spanish Fernando Alonso, because, in these first days he has already talked with him more than with Kimi Raikkonen in three years.”
“Things have begun very well; we have spoken a lot about the car and on what to do to make it competitive.  I have talked more with Fernando these days than with Kimi in three years.  Of course, that’s not difficult because Kimi doesn’t like to talk a lot, but I also worked very well with him, even without the need to talk,” clarified Massa in a press conference that took place in Madonna di Campiglio, where the Ferrari team 2010 ‘Wroom’ is being held.
Hence, the Brazilian considers that they can both “work very well together,” because the opposite would be “negative,” both for themselves and for the team.  ”We’re in a very important team.  We know what we have to do.  And we know that if we work well together we can have a better car in the racing track,” he added.
In this way, Massa wanted to clarify the questions that arose on how his relationship with the ‘Scuderia,’ would be, after the clashes between both pilots.  ”We have discussed the problems.  It’s similar to when you go and speak to your mother and once you tell her your feelings and ask her to forgive you, everything gets back to normal.  Personally, I don’t have any strange feelings or opinions towards Fernando,” he stated.

“I FEEL BETTER THAN PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT.”

On the other hand, the pilot from Rio de Janeiro made reference to his recovery following the accident he suffered last year in Hungary’s Grand Prix and which forced him to loose the last eight races.  Massa pointed out that he’s “very well,” that he’s had “a very good” recovery and that he’s even better than prior to the accident.”
“I’m motivated and looking forward to begin the year.  I’m also going through a very important moment in my life with the birth of my first son, ‘Felipinho’”, Massa said.  “My goal is to become world champion,” he made clear.
“Everybody knows I was frustrated because of 2008’s events, due to many things that revolved around the championship, and which I hope will never happen again in Formula One.  I want to fight and become world champion,” he declared sententiously.
Even though the Brazilian experienced tough moments after his accident, according to what he confessed, he never once thought of retiring.  ” I never thought I would have to stop competing; I was convinced that I could be back in Valencia, already.  The accident has not changed my approach on work and my way of thinking, because I’ve had to face many difficulties in my life and I have always learned a lot from them,” he explained.

“SCHUMACHER COMEBACK IS GOOD FOR FÓRMULA 1″.

Another topic that the Ferrari pilot touched was the comeback of his ex-mate, the German Michael Schumacher, who will reappear in the competition but now with Mercedes.  ”When he ran he was happier than when he didn’t.  His comeback is interesting and good for the racing sport,” he pronounced.
In addition, Massa described the German pilot as “a friend” and considers that it was “very important” for him to have him as a mate, because he helped him “to improve.”  “In the track we will fight one against the other, but outside the races our frienship continues;” he indicated.
Massa’s point of view is that ‘Schumi’ did a “perfect career, retiring in the right moment.”  ”Now, he has wanted to come back and it’s very difficult to tell if his decision is correct.  It will surely be strange to see him race for another team after running so many years in Ferrari, but just now, there were no more options for his comeback because the decision of who the two pilots will be has already been taken,” he specified.

“EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED IN 2008 AND NOTHING IS GAINED BY LOOKING BACK.”

Finally, the Brazilian talked about the 2008 Singapore’s Gran Prix events, with the intentional accident brought about by ‘Nelsinho’ Piquet -who was then in Renault-, and which allowed Fernando Alonso to win, taking away some points from Massa which were later decisive for the championship’s result.  Lewis Hamilton would take the title with only one margin point with respect to Ferrari’s.
In the wake of the scandal, Renault’s former director, Flavio Briatore, was declared guilty by the FIA and banned for life for ordering Piquet’s accident.  The ban was recently overturned by the Paris Court.
“Honestly, if you see something that’s not alright in the racing sport, and that, one way or the other, goes against the rules, I don’t think it’s difficult to change the result, even if that would not be good for the sport,” Massa concluded.  “Everybody knows what happened and that nothing is gained by looking back:”

First press conference of Alonso as Ferrari pilot First press conference of Alonso as Ferrari pilotComments Off

The long-awaited time of having Fernando Alonso answer questions in a press conference as Ferrari member has arrived today.  The man from Asturias has high hopes of ending his sport career in the Italian team, and did not hesitate to describe the Italian racing team as a “unique” team in Formula One.  “It’s almost impossible to find the motivation to race in another team after racing in Ferrari, because you’ll never find the same atmosphere or the same sensation.  It’s a legendary team.  Now, that I have reached one of my goals I’m happy,” he added.
“I’ve felt comfortable since the very first day.  The team has received me like a family member.  I think that Ferrari is something unique in the Formula One.  You all have dreamt of driving non-racing Ferrari cars and I’m not an exception.  I’m sure this is going to be my last team.  I want to finish this career with good taste in my mouth,” he said during his first press conference as Ferrari pilot.
For Alonso, the team’s atmosphere is “friendly” and in the factory “one breaths passion for races.”  As is well known by those who know Alonso, this things are vital for him, so he has not hesitated to admit that the “way of working” has surprised him.”  ”I was used to working with people who sent emails to someone who was only a few feet away, he declared.
“I work a 110 percent for the team, but if the team does not do the same, things are not well,” he asserted.
Nevertheless, Fernando was cautious and believes that its almost impossible to emulate the seven titles of the ‘Kaiser’.  “There is much equality in Formula 1, and rules are very strict.  Currently, the competition is in two or three tenths.  This is why winning five World Championships in a row or four, as Michael did, is something very difficult to repeat,” he stated.
As has been usual for me during the last year, I avoid talking about his stage in McLaren-Mercedes and his presumed rivalry with Lewis Hamilton. “I lost a lot of time talking about that.  I never asked to be the number one, but I don’t want to be number two, and that’s something that happened a few times in 2007″, he said when asked.
He did want to make clear that his relationship with his new mate, Felipe Massa, is “very good,” despite of the Germany incident.  ”In 2007, we were participating in a race, we’re competitive, but that belongs to the past.”
Getting back to his current status as Ferrari pilot, he’s convinced that he’s “more prepared” than ever to face the challenge of being a Ferrari pilot.  “Now, I’m more prepared for this challenge, that is not easy because Ferrari is known worldwide and a lot is expected of me “, he concluded.

Nelson Piquet Jr. his future linked to Nascar category Nelson Piquet Jr. his future linked to Nascar categoryComments Off

The Brazilian pilot, Nelson Piquet Jr., who shared a Formula One racing team with Fernando Alonso, revealed that his future with engines will be linked to the Nascar category.
He expressed that, after assessing his future options, he realized he’s disenchanted with what he had considered “a great challenge.” “Being successful in the Formula One was always my goal, but after my first eighteen months, things didn’t work out as I had planned and so decided to concentrate on something different,” he explained.
However, the son of the three times Formula One world champion did not explain in what category he will compete, even though last October he tested for the Red Horse Racing team, of the Camping World Series.
Piquet triggered one of the greatest scandals of the last times in the ‘Great Circus, when, after being dismissed by the Renault racing team he confessed to the FIA that his team had ordered him to produce an accident during the 2008 Singapore GP, so as to contribute to his team mate’s victory, the Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

Shumacher with rain-hit test on Jerez Shumacher with rain-hit test on JerezComments Off

Michael Schumacher says he ground his first day of trying in a GP2 car useful preparation for his Formula 1 return, even if wet weather meant he couldn’t complete any serious running on dry tyres.

With the returning seven-time champion unable to get back in F1 machiney until the testing ban is lifted at the start of February, his new team Mercedes GP managed to get permission from the FIA for the 41-year-old to carry out three days worth of track testing in the GP2 Series’s next-generation car at Jerez this week.

Schumacher, who has spent the past three years in retirement, hadn’t been behind the wheel of single seater since driving a two-year-old Ferrari last summer as part of his preparations for a temporary comeback bid which he soon had to abort due to a lingering neck injury.

The opening day of his GP2 test, however, in southern Spain was hit by poor weather, meaning the track was too wet to complete running on slick tyres.

However despite the rainy conditions and the fact the GP2 car doesn’t put his now-healed neck through the kind of g-forces he will experience in an F1 cockpit, Schumacher says he still happened the day invaluable – particularly as it proved to him his peerless wet-weather skills were still intact.

“The day today was good especially because after a long time I could drive again in a car that came almost close to a current Formula 1,“ he said on his personal website.

Questions & Answers to Heikki Kovalainen for the 2010 season Questions & Answers to Heikki Kovalainen for the 2010 seasonComments Off

Last season Heikki Kovalainen stuck his way. Twin with Lewis Hamilton at McLaren for a second year, he struggled to get the most out of the MP4-24 and finished the championship 12th, 27 points adrift of his illustrious team mate.

This season Kovalainen have a different challenge as he competes for one of 2010’s four new teams – Lotus. Following is the interview that the official F1 have done to Kovalainen.

Q: Heikki, you have switched from massive manufacturer team to small, private outfit this year. How are you finding the change?

Heikki Kovalainen: Obviously McLaren is a very big team, but as we saw last year, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will always be quick. They can obviously turn it around quickly, but I see a lot of potential at Lotus and that’s why I decided to come here. At the beginning it will be tough, we’ll have a hard first few months, but once we get going, I think I’ll have a better opportunity here than I would do with anyone else.

Q: You are so familiar with the inner workings of McLaren. How do you think the departure of Mercedes will change the team?

HK: I don’t really know. It’s obviously a big change for them but they’re a big team and, to be honest, it’s not really my business anymore!

Q: While McLaren’s image is quite reserved, Lotus seems a bit different, especially with the fun and relaxed Tony Fernandes at the helm as team principal. It must be quite a change. Are you already comfortable in the more laidback environment?

HK: I think they are very different teams, but I did have a good time with McLaren. We tried as hard as we could to get the best results, but it just didn’t work out for me as it should have done. However, what I can do is bring what I learnt there. They are highly motivated, and they always push to the maximum to achieve the best result. I think I can bring that here and it will work well at Lotus as well.

Q: There must have been many times during 2009 when you doubted you’d be able to stay in Formula One racing. How did your deal with Lotus come about? When did it all happen?

HK: The deal was eventually signed quite late, but the team first contacted me directly during the season, asking me what my situation was. At that point I didn’t know anything really about Lotus. I was concentrating on finishing the season well. I had a number of options, but with rumours going around about some teams struggling for money, I was interested in talking to Mike (Gascoyne) and Tony, as I knew they had a stable budget for the next three years and a strong technical team joining later. In the end it was an easy decision to make and the best choice available for me.

Q: Have people underestimated your talents as a driver?

HK: I don’t think people have seen the best of me yet, and I don’t think I got the best out of McLaren. My aim at Lotus is to get the best out of the team and the car, and I don’t see any reason why the results won’t come. I don’t think there are any areas I particularly need to improve. Some people think I’m a good qualifier, and not such a good racer, but that’s only been while I was at McLaren. If you look at my time at Renault in 2007 the race performances were actually very strong, and I felt I got more out of the Renault than I did the McLaren. I don’t really care what people think – I’m more determined than ever to do a good job for the team.

Q: Your team mate Jarno Trulli may have an advantage as he’s worked with technical director Mike Gascoyne for many years. How will you muscle into that picture?

HK: I think Jarno and I will fit very well into that picture. I know the direction I want the team to go, and the team obviously wanted to get two experienced drivers on board so we do go in the right direction straight away. Together with Jarno I know we can do that.

Q: The driver announcement in Kuala Lumpur was very emotional and the location and guests were top notch…

HK: I didn’t really know what to expect when I got out there, but I was a little surprised by how well everything went. The team out there are experienced, but not really in terms of F1 so I wasn’t sure how much guidance I’d need to give them. In fact I didn’t have to give them any advice – everything was organised really well, and Tony had made sure all the main people knew what was going on and what they had to do. The Malaysian people were really excited about Lotus coming back as well and the whole atmosphere was very positive.

Q: You are at the factory right now. What is your impression of it? How does it compare to McLaren’s factory in Woking?

HK: It’s obviously very different. In terms of area – Woking and Norfolk – are both very similar. They aren’t big like London, but there are good golf courses around. The facilities are obviously very different. McLaren is a big, hi-tech kind of space centre that nobody else has, and this is where we are building a new operation. When you go from a space station to a building site it’s obviously different, but I know that once the team is fully set up here it will be as efficient as McLaren and we can go for good results.

Q: What is the schedule for the weeks ahead?

HK: We are preparing as well as we can at this time. One thing is that we could possibly join an earlier test. The car would probably be able to run but we wouldn’t have spare parts and we wouldn’t be able to test properly. If we had any problems, the test would be over. So at the third test we know we’ll be able to push the car hard. I can push it to the limit, get a feel for the car and hopefully we can do a lot of mileage. I expect the car to be pretty reliable straight out of the box because Mike and the design team are all experienced people who know how to build a race car. Then the question mark will be how much performance we have. When the factory’s all set up and running we’ll be able to get decent upgrades relatively quickly, and that’s when we’ll see the real performance.

Q: Tony has thrown down the gauntlet to Virgin’s Richard Branson in what could be the funniest bet Formula One racing has ever seen (the loser will spend a day as an air stewardess on the other’s airline). How confident are you that the team will beat Virgin? How much personal pride is involved there do you think?

HK: I’m sure there’s a lot of pride there. They’ve known each other a long time and they’re both very successful, so I’m sure it’s quite personal. I do know Tony will be kicking my ass to beat them, and I fully expect Mike to be doing the same. I think it’s cool – we already have one definite target to aim for. But a lot will depend on how quick the car is. If it’s very quick then we’ll be fighting all sorts of people, but I know that if I see a Virgin car I’ll have to get in front.

Q: When will we see you in the car for the first time?

HK: That will be at the third group test at Jerez. Jarno and I will be sharing the driving equally there, then at Barcelona. It’s not a lot of testing but I’ve done a lot of F1 driving so I’d be ready to go straight to the race if necessary.

Ferrari Formula One Ferrari Formula OneComments Off

Ferrari formula one racing is the best in the formula one world. Ferrari fans around the world watch Formula one every week. What makes Formula one so special? It’s hard to say. But Formula one gains more and more interest in public.
Scuderia Ferrari is a division of the Ferrari automobile company, which is concerned with racing. Scuderia means “stable” in Italian and Ferrari is after the name of Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the brand. Should You Breastfeed Or Formula Feed Should You Breastfeed Or Formula FeedComments Off

Breastfeeding and Formula Today, breastfeeding is being encouraged over baby formula feeding because of the many advantages for both mother and child. For the child, it gets all the nutrients it needs from breast milk, plus the mother’s anti bodies, which will help the child develop resistance to certain viral and bacterial infections. Breastfeeding also helps in developing physical and emotional bond between mother and child, since there is constant physical contact, and the baby feels secure in its mother’s arms. For the mother, breastfeeding is more convenient and is more practical because there is no need for milk bottles, no need to wash and sterilize bottles, and there is no need to get up at the middle of the night to prepare a bottle of milk. Breastfeeding also does not cause too much burping on infants. However, there are times when breastfeeding is no longer possible, for reasons such as the following:- The mother needs to take medication because of an illness or a deficiency in certain nutrients- The mother’s breast does not produce enough milk- The baby is not able to suckle on his mother’s breast because of some birth defect – The mother eats foods that causes an allergic reaction to the baby – The baby is not the biological child of the mother, in cases of adoption- The baby is being solely cared for by his father, or by a guardian- The mother has to go to work on a full time basisOther concerns such as personal or religious beliefs may also hinder a mother to breastfeed. In these cases, baby formula feeding can be a substitute to make sure that the baby still gets the nutrients he needs to maintain a healthy body. There are a lot of choices for formula feeding, and there are special infant formulas that address certain peculiar health concerns such as babies with sensitive digestive systems, where they cannot digest ordinary milk formula. There are also baby formulas that are fortified with certain vitamins and minerals that are helpful in the physical development of the baby. Before proceeding to using baby formula, parents should consult the baby’s pediatrician to make sure that their baby formula feeding is done right. Milk labels already have instructions on how frequent the baby should be fed, and the amount of powdered formula to add to a given amount of water. When changing milk formula brands, this should be done slowly, and it should not be a sudden change, because the baby might not like the taste of the new brand. It is advisable to first adjust the measurement, for example, for the first week, four scoops of formula can be divided into a ratio of three is to one (three scoops old brand and one scoop new brand), and the new brand can be increased until the baby has gotten used to the new brand. Baby formula feeding is not a hindrance to achieving a healthy mother and child bond. When bottle feeding, the baby should still be held in a way that it is still close to the mother’s breasts. Breastmilk may be replaced, but the mother is irreplaceable.

How to make $3 a day? That’s what The Mini Site Formula promises to teach you. But wait a second… $3 a day? $90 a month? Are you kidding right? What’s the deal? Is it some kind of SCAM here? But let’s look at this from another perspective… $3 a day is definitely not a lot but if you could multiply it by 100, it becomes $300 a day which is about $9,000 a month or $108,000 a year. This is more than most average Americans earn in a year. Now, that’s something! In a nutshell, that’s what the Mini Site Formula is all about. The important thing is that he will give you one of his live sites just to prove that his mini site formula really works! In my opinion, this one alone is worth more than the asking price. You only need very small investment to get started with the formula. If you’re new, you may not be able to create the first site in 30 minutes.
